Teacher boxes!

I made these really cute boxes for the kids teachers last night. Nothing like the last minute right? I got the idea from a blog called Paper Pleasing. You can google it if you want. There's a link for a tutorial on that website. It was really simple to make and they are SO cute! What do you think? Come on, show me some love...

Mother's Day and some other goodies...

Mother's Day is so much fun for me! I love that my children make things for me. I don't know why, but they mean so much more to me than things that are bought. Tanner, my fifteen year old son who is much too cool to show emotion, made me a card with a poem on it.

You can't see it but he drew a picture of me from an old photo on the front. It pleased me so much to see that he took the time and made the effort to MAKE something for me.
Here's a photo of Emma's present to me. Emma and Joseph made one for me in preschool and they were so excited to have a present for me. They didn't want to wait for Mother's Day! They actually wrapped the present themselves! I'm sure that was super fun for them

Here's what they made for me! I love them so much!!

And aren't the hugs the best thing! I have pictures of me with everyone, but I'm not sharing!! (They woke me up out of a dead sleep!! So NOT photogenic in the morning!!)

After church I got my breakfast in bed. Buttermilk pancakes and eggs and bacon! I'm not a morning person and everytime they made me breakfast in bed in the morning I couldn't eat it because it made me sick. So....this time I asked for it after church!! Yummm.....

And then Tanner decided to do a photo shoot while I was in bed...so.....I went ahead and posed for him! LOL!!

He was so funny..."Work it Mom!" "Fabulous" etc...

I tell you, I love having fun with my kids!

Fun little card and pillowcase!

Isn't this the cutest card! I used a bella stamp from www.stampingbella.com. I love ALL her stamps and she just came out with some of the most fabulous hugabug stamps and some new Ketto stamps. I don't think that this card is too bad for a beginner! Do you? I colored her with my Copic markers (that I am in love with), put a little dimension on two balloons by using, hmmm...I forget the name, but it makes it look really shiny and raised. I also used my nestabilities for the oval and the scalloped oval. Boy, do those things make everything easy or what?!
Here's a photo of the pillowcase I made for an activity in my church. We teach 8-12 year olds fun things and this is one of them. For anyone who knows me, they know that I don't know how to sew. I have the top of the line Viking sewing machine and not much knowledge to use it. We all have to learn right? My daughter loves her new little pillowcase and I used a technique that hides the inside seam on the band. Wanna see?.....

I know, it's such a silly little thing to be proud of, what with it being only about 4 seams, but I really am proud of it!! LOL!

Here's the Valentine's Lollipop Holder!

Isn't that so cute!? I love the whole thing! I got the template from www.papertreyink.com and I'm really glad I did. I made a couple of improvements and I don't much like that the sides are open but all in all I think it turned out well.
I used the Basic Grey paper and the ribbon was from a local store. The stamps that I used are from Close to my Heart and I am so in love with those things. If you click on the picture you'll be able to see the stamps up close. Can't wait for my Papertrey goodies to arrive, and I also ordered some Magnolia's for Easter. I'm hoping to be like a couple of people I'm idolizing and color magnificently. I'll give you the websites for them when I transfer everything to this computer.

My first post!

I'm creating this blog just so I can show some creative projects and people won't have to hear about all my personal stuff at the same time. Maybe this will inspire me to be more creative! I'm also going to be doing some sewing too, so I guess I could've named it differently. Hmmmph! Oh well, I love what serendipity means and I couldn't think of a third name after, "Serendipitous stamping, sewing and.....Maybe later! And for all those who don't know, I am totally new at both stamping AND sewing, so this is going to be a great journey for me. I've always been a lover of anything crafty, but being pregnant so many years of my life, I didn't feel like doing anything extra, beyond being Mommy. But now...no more babies. And now...my love for anything crafty is coming to life!!
